You know, I don’t ask myself that question. My life has looked so different sometimes from year to year that I feel like it’s limiting to make a checklist for life. Because when you do you that you might miss out on opportunities.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s good to have goals. My goal in 10 years? If i were to get into a time machine in 10 years and come back and meet me today, I want to be someone that I would be proud of.

I’m hoping to start a family, have kids, and find a more permanent job as a lecturer in the University or some company. I’m aiming to accomplish this before 10 years have passed (fingers crossed!), but then again 10 years is a long time to think ahead!

This is the typical question they ask you if you are looking for a job in Italy 🙂 To be honest, I won’t be able to tell you at present where I will be or what I would do in 10 years time. 10 years ago I was still doing my bachelor in engineering in South of Italy (Cosenza) and I would have never ever guessed or dreamed to do this specific engineering job in London (normally my job is done by Hardware Engineers in Italy, which I think is not the best of the ideas) and to be so knowledgeable of robotics. I can tell you with a good degree of confidence that I will be working towards making robots safer and useful for people, if this will happen as a engineer, scientist or entrepreneur and will take the form of a software, a business or some technical specification I helped drafting I cannot tell you with certainty

Good question, I would not have even predicted where I am now 10 years ago. And that is great. I think it is good to have some form of idea or direction though, so you can embrace chances and opportunities and don’t get annoyed when things don’t work out.
As I see there are multiple options: Our company is super successful and I might still work there or I moved on, but the experience I will have gained it gonna be great. I could also have started or already finished PhD in Physics seeing I am studying it now. I would be interested in that if the right opportunity came along. Or maybe I run my own business, how cool would that be…Or it is something very different 😉
Either way, it will be super exciting.
