      Hi

I am being purely selfish now, I would have loved to learn how to code when I was younger, but that doesn’t answer your question of course. 😉

So let me give you an example: A week and a half ago I went to a workshop called Django Girls. This was a free workshop to teach anybody how to create your own website. The details can be found here if you are interested: https://tutorial.djangogirls.org/en/

I thought it was great, to start building your own website and see it unfold is amazing. And I only have basic knowledge about coding, but I am very interested. What threw me off (before) is the idea that it is too complicated and that you don’t see what you are actually making.

The thing is, I have a feeling that many people might think similar, they think it is too difficult – when in fact it is like every other subject in school where you start slowly and have to get over the initial hurdles, but then it is most rewarding. And even if you don’t want to take up a coding life, understanding how this works, what the internet is made off or websites is really useful.
