There are so many great ideas and things out there, I think I would love to do more with smart tech or smart cities. In Bristol, there is a guy working on a vertical farming system, that is going to be great – no need for soil and hardly any water. How cool is that?
When it comes to renewable energies, one of the big problems is not creating the energy, but storing it. That is the area that really needs improvement and that would be fascinating as well/

I would work more in robotics applications to manufacturing. How to make assembly lines more flexible so that the human worker can relax from his chair in the office and all he needs to do is to supervise (and teach) robots. Another thing that would be interesting is robotics supporting elders or helping out in a household, but this is more of a research problem due to unclear safety concerns related to the interaction between humans and robots (have a look at what people who own a cat and a iRobot’s Roomba vacuum cleaner done, and you can imagine the risks of using a full humanoid robot in a house)
